Jason Boso's Truck Yard is open for business

Attention, wine-os! The Truck Yard is hosting a wine tasting this Friday, June 10. For $15, you can get a taste of five different wines and a souvenir wine glass. There will also be a chance to check out some local artwork and pick the next “porch-supper wine.” Act fast, there are only 200 tickets for the event!

Pack your picnic baskets and grab a blanket for the lawn. This Thursday, the Dallas Arboretum will pay tribute to Sir Paul McCartney from 7:30-9:30 p.m. during its Cool Thursdays Concert Series. Don’t feel like lugging your food around? Not to worry, there will be some of Dallas’ best food trucks. Tickets start at $27.

The Bath House Cultural Center will have Echo Theatre performing a staged reading of Deborah Salem Smith’s “Love Alone.” The play “explores two sides of an accidental death.” The reading will be performed Thursday, June 9 through Sunday, June 12, at 8 p.m. each night. Tickets are $10.

Backdoor Comedy will be hosting a stand-up comedy showcase this Friday, June 10 at 9 p.m. and Saturday at 8 and 10:15 p.m. If you can’t make it out this weekend, though, the showcase will continue to run for the next two weekends on Fridays and Saturdays. Be ready to laugh from comics from Comedy Central, Showtime, NBC’s “Last Comic Standing” and more. The event is 18 and up and tickets start at $14.

On Saturday, June 11, the Historic District will be hosting its neighborhood mixer the Historic Sons of Hermann Hall at Peak and Exposition. There will be a chance to mingle with neighbors, a performance by Restoration Blues and much more. The event is free to the public and will last from 8 p.m. to midnight.
