Uh-oh. I’m in trouble — in honor of its 3rd birthday, The Cake Ball Company, which recently opened a storefront at the southeast corner of Northwest Highway and Easton, is offering $1 birthday-cake flavored cake balls tomorrow, August 20.
As you’ll read in our new business column, The Cake Ball Company is owned and operated by Lake Highlands’ resident Robin Ankeny. Ankeny grew up in South Texas eating her mother’s one-of-a-kind cake balls. As she started a family of her own, she began making he (doughy, creamy, and oh-so sugary) cake balls for her family and friends. Word spread, orders began piling up and the Cake Ball Company was established. The rest, Ankeny says, “is crazy, delicious history.”
