Twice in the last few days, we addressed the topic of water-treatment problems at a city plant in early December.

From Randall Payton, assistant director of operations for Dallas Water Utilities, the Advocate‘s Jeff Siegel and the rest of us in the neighborhood got the go-ahead to drink our tap water. Payton told Siegel that the plant’s failure — having to do with “treatment technique”— was a minor one.

He and other regulators classified it as “non acute”, according to Siegel’s post.

Yesterday, one of our freelance designers — a soft-spoken woman who is not prone to complaining or dramatics — stopped by my office to tell me that she did not believe that the water issue was minor. That since early December she and her Munger Place neighbors haven’t been drinking from their sinks because the water is visibly discolored. Even now, the water isn’t right, she says.

I asked her if she’d take a photo of her water for us. This is what she sent today. Yuck.
