The Writer’s Garret is marking National Poetry Month Friday with a free poetry reading from Jack Myers and three other poets from the SMU creative writing program. The reading, which starts at 7 p.m., will emphasize the importance of "sharing via teaching, mentoring and learning." Myers taught and mentored the three other poets who will be reading Friday.
Myers, who lives in Mesquite, has published five poetry collections, and has been published in hundreds of literary journals. The Writer’s Garret is upstairs from Paperbacks Plus.
