If you’re a golfer, the first week of May offers a couple of opportunities to raise money for neighborhood groups while playing the Tenison Highlands Course.

On May 4, the Woodrow Wilson Athletic Booster Club golf tournament is scheduled at Tenison; the group raises money to benefit Woodrow athletic programs. With both DISD and local businesses/corporations cutting back, the Booster Club needs neighbors to help bridge the gap. For more information, contact Jim Cunningham (214-827-8078) or Sam Harrington (214-558-0582).

And on May 8, the Lakewood Young Life Golf Tournament also will be held at Tenison. This tournament raises money to support Young Life, which operates programs for neighborhood middle and high school students. For more information or to donate prizes for the event, email Leigh Ann O’Quinn, a neighborhood resident who is coordinating the event.
