Arizona State University hall of famer and Woodrow Wilson High School grad Alton Lister added another item to his list of superlatives this week.

Lister was named one of the top 50 professional athletes to come out of the school by SB Nation.

Lister completed three season with the Sun Devils, averaging 12 points and 8.2 rebounds per game.

According to the article, Lister, “tallied a career-high 15.4 points and 9.7 rebounds during his junior season, earning him All-Pac-10 honors.”

After his junior year he left for the NBA. He was taken by the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round of the 1981 draft. He spent five season with the Bucks before being dealt to the Seattle Supersonics in 1986.

The Dallas native averaged his career best 11.6 points and 9.4 rebounds per game with Seattle. He then took up the role of NBA journeyman. Between 1993 and 1998 he played for Golden State, the Bucks again, the Boston Celtics and the Portland Trailblazers. Lister retired at age 39 finishing his 17-year career with a 6.6 points. 6.3 rebounds and 1.5 block per game average.

 

Today Lister is an assistant coach with Tropang TNT, a team in the Philippine Basketball Association.
