Woodrow’s swimmers came home from the recent UIL state championship with some wins.

The meet took place at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center at the University of Texas at Austin over the weekend.

Sophomore Campbell Chase defended her title in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:00.87. She also placed second in the 100-yard freestyle. Last year, Chase placed third in the 100-yard freestyle.

In the boys 200-yard freestyle, junior Jack Berube placed second, and junior Grant Closson placed fourth.

Closson also placed fifth in the 100-yard freestyle.

In the 100-yard backstroke, Berube finished second.

Sophomore Phoebe Johnson made it to the consolation final for the 100-yard butterfly.

Woodrow also sent some athletes to the state wrestling competition.
