Assistant principal Brent Vidrine describes the class of 1995 as “very strong minded.”

“They think they should have a voice in everything,” he says.

Graduation ceremonies take place May 14 at Fair Park Music Hall at 2 p.m. Seating is on a first-come first-served basis, but there should be no problem seating everyone, Vidrine says.

During the ceremony the school band and choir will perform, and the valedictorian and salutatorian will give speeches.

After graduation, there will be an all-night party organized by senior parents at Don Carter’s All Star Lanes, 6343 Northwest Highway at Skillman Street, from midnight to 6 a.m.

Check-in is from 11:30 p.m. to midnight. After that, the doors will be locked and no one will be allowed to enter. No one may leave without the consent of a parent, says Rick Franco, who is in charge of planning the party and is father of senior Michael Franco.

There will be music, dancing, movies and food, and the seniors will get to see their class video, which has been filmed throughout the year.

“This will probably be the last time a lot of these kids will see each other,” Franco says. “A lot of these kids have been together since kindergarten.”

“It will be a place to have a good, clean, safe time.”

Tickets for the party are $17.50 per person and can be purchased during Woodrow’s lunch hours from May 1 to May 5. After May 5, tickets can be bought at the school’s front desk.

On May 12, the day of graduation rehearsal, seniors will have a luncheon at the music hall’s Crystal Terrace Restaurant. Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Roger Staubach will speak at the luncheon. Prom is later that evening at The Dallas World Aquarium, 1801 N. Griffin St.

On April 30, a baccalaureate ceremony takes place at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 6306 Kenwood, at 7 p.m. Seating is on a first-come first-served basis.
