Woodrow’s varsity baseball team is headed to the second round of playoffs.

The Wildcats defeated Sunset High School 13-2 in the first game May 7. The second game was closer, with Woodrow leading 7-6 in the fourth inning.

With two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning, Cortez Saenz hit the ball over third base, allowing the runner on second to score. Woodrow won the game 8-7. Watch it below.

Woodrow now advances to the second round of playoffs against The Colony. The series starts Thursday, May 13 at 7 p.m. at Irving High School. Game two is scheduled for Friday at 7 p.m. at Irving McArthur, and if needed, the third game will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Irving McArthur.

The softball team at Woodrow lost their series against Prosper Rock Hill and will not advance in playoffs.
