Wilshire Baptist Church is preparing for the next installment of its Faith in 3D theatre program, In Songs and Stories, set to premier next week.
Set to premiere at 6 p.m. on March 26 in Wilshire’s sanctuary, the show will be the eleventh installment of the church’s 3D drama series, which has run annually since 2015. There will be a second matinee showing at 2:30 p.m. on March 29.
In Songs and Stories is an original “vignette-style musical” directed by Nancy Poynter, a former drama teacher at the drama school. Ralph Manuel will provide musical direction for the show’s twenty cast members.
The program is named 3D for the three essential elements of each production: drama, dessert and discussion. After each production, members of the production will lead a moderated discussion of themes found in the musical, complete with a sweet treat.
In Songs and Stories is free and open to the public.
