  • Tonight, Oct. 17, the Dallas Art House celebrating its third birthday during the “Taste & See: Art House is Three” event from 6-8 p.m. The event will include live painting and a silent art auction featuring work by some of Dallas’ most talented artists, plus live music by local songwriters on the lakeside patio, floral design, a photo booth, and a happy hour with delicious food by local culinary artists. It’s in the Filter Building located at 2810 White Rock Rd. Tickets are $22. Visit the website for more.
  • On Friday, Oct. 18, 7:00 p.m. St. Matthew’s Cathedral Arts is hosting Dallas Black Dance Academy. The Junior, Senior and Allegro Performing Ensembles of the Dallas Black Dance Academy will perform a mixture of ballet, modern, jazz and ethnic works. St. Matthew’s Episcopal Cathedral is located at 5100 Ross Avenue. The event is in the Great Hall. It is free.
  • Through Oct. 27, join Dallas Children’s Theater as it celebrates 30 years of service to the community with its rendition of Dr. Seuss’ “The Cat in the Hat.”
 The event is in the Rosewood Center for Family Arts Center for Family Arts. Dallas Children’s Theater is located at 5938 Skillman. Call 214.978.0110 for more. Tickets range from $13-$40.
  • Through Oct. 31 the Dallas Arboretum is hosting 
Concerts at the Arboretum every Thursday night. The Arboretum hosts a different band on the Martin Rutchik Concert Stage and Lawn. Bring your family and friends and your favorite food and drinks, and enjoy a concert overlooking White Rock Lake. All fall concerts are from 7 p.m.-9 p.m. Gates open at 6 p.m. The
