Tomorrow night, Oct. 6, is chance to see Lakewood Shopping Center as it used to be. Neighborhood resident and architect Sally Johnson will be leading a Dallas Historical Society “Pour Yourself into History” tour, starting at The Cock & Bull on Gaston at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are free, though tour-goers will need to purchase their own drinks at The Cock & Bull as well as the tour’s ending spot, The Gingerman.
We devoted several pages in October’s issue to the history of Lakewood Shopping Center and ways to improve its present and future community uses. Johnson’s tour will give us even more insight on where we’ve been, and hopefully ideas on what could lie ahead.
