On May 9, voters in District 9 will select a new city councilman to replace Sheffie Kadane, who is termed out after eight years on council. Considering the importance of this election, we asked each candidate to come to our studio and participate in a couple rounds of questioning. Without knowing what they would be asked (or how close they would have to sit to our borrowed fern), they consented. We’ve already published two videos, and will continue share each one over the next couple of weeks, posting them in order of how the candidates are listed on the election ballot. (No need to wait; you can watch them all here.)

The third man on the ballot is Mark Clayton, who brings up his favorite stump issue, the Trinity Toll Road, during this interview, and also takes issue with council’s conversations concerning fluoride (but is it enough to earn Clayton the dental association endorsement?).
