The Munger Place United Methodist Church’s clothing exchange Saturday was like that Gwen Stefani song – “B-a-n-a-n-a-s.” It was crowded, and the church’s basement was a hot, sticky mess. But lots of people went away with new-ish clothes for themselves and their families. Besides that, the church donated truckloads of leftover clothes to five charities.

I brought two bags of clothes and walked out with one bag containing, among other things, a leather and fur jacket from the 70s. I would never buy such a thing – especially not in May – but it was free and it fit, and I couldn’t resist.
