As explained yesterday, the Advocate interviewed all five District 9 candidates running to replace Sheffie Kadane on the Dallas City Council. The result is two videos of each man  — one brief policy-related Q&A and one “lightning round” interview. We’ll share each video over the next couple of weeks, posting them in order of how the candidates are listed on the election ballot. (No need to wait; you can watch them all here.)

Second on the ballot is Darren Boruff, who went out on a limb when asked what one city project he would tackle if he was guaranteed success. (Hint: It’s baseball-related, which isn’t too surprising considering his efforts to construct Little League fields at White Rock Lake Park.)

It takes roughly two minutes or less to watch each video, and we tried to infuse some comic relief with our borrowed fern (an inference to our lighthearted approach, in case you don’t know the cultural reference). Our hope is that people will take just a few minutes of time to watch and to vote because, as we’ve mentioned, this is an important election.
