Sweet Temptations Bakery and Cafe at 9090 Skillman, near LBJ Expressway, offers tantalizing desserts and good breakfast, lunch and dinner menus, including a Sunday brunch.

The restaurant has a European atmosphere, both in décor and menu selection. Prices are moderate, and it’s possible for two people to enjoy a filling breakfast for less than $10. Sweets are the sweetest, especially the selection of gooey cakes.

A cafe called Sweet Endings is a must if you are down Deep Ellum way. Desserts are the name of the game here.

Sweet Endings looks at first like and old-time ice cream parlor. But the guy behind the counter is a John Lennon lookalike.

There are various assortments of cakes, pies, cheesecakes, muffins, brownies, cookies and ice cream. You can also order coffee, cappuccino, espresso, teas and soft drinks.

How does a piece of Oreo cake strike you? Prices range from 95 cents for muffins to $2.95 for slices of pie to $3.45 for a piece of cake.

If you are near the Inwood Theater and would like a sweet ending to a good movie, stop off at Kathleen’s Art Cafe. She has a wonderful dinner menu, but that’s for another story.

The dessert cart is loaded with white chocolate cheesecake, chess pie, triple-layer chocolate cake and much more. Prices run from $2.50 to $5.

Kathleen’s Art Cafe, 4424 Lovers Lane, 691-2355, is open 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Friday, 5:30-10 p.m. Sunday-Thursday, 5:30 p.m.-1 a.m. Friday and Saturday. Breakfast is served from 7-10 a.m. Monday-Friday. Breakfast and brunch are served from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
