Woodrow Wilson High School is full of interesting and passionate teachers, and is also fortunate to have a couple Heisman Trophy winners bring some fame to the East Dallas campus. Tim Brown, one of Woodrow’s Heisman winners, will soon talk about the teacher that made an impact on him in a public service announcement.

The College Football Playoff Foundation, based in Irving, chose four athletes with Dallas ties to celebrate their favorite high school teachers in public service announcements. The campaign, called “It Only Takes One,” is meant to bring attention to teacher shortages and encourage students to consider the field.

Brown’s video will be the first to be shown at Notre Dame, when his alma mater plays the University of Miami (Ohio) on Sept. 30.

“Sometimes the teacher is the only positive influence that a kid is going to have,” Brown told the Dallas Morning News. “There are teachers who go above and beyond the call of duty. Those teachers certainly deserve to be recognized.”
