Brown, who attended Woodrow Wilson High School, is one of several celebrities playing in the tournament, along with Tony Romo, Emmitt Smith, Alfonso Ribeiro and even Larry the Cable Guy. Over 40 celebrities from the sports, entertainment, business and political industries are playing.

These individuals are competing in addition to a group of PGA Tour Champions players, such as Woody Austin, John Daly and more. There will also be 10 amateurs, all members of ClubCorp clubs, who earned spots to play.

The professional purse prize is $2 million, and the celebrity prize purse is $500,000.

Brown was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2015 and was a nine-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro. He played for the Raiders and the Buccaneers during his 17-year NFL career.

Before joining the league, Brown played for Notre Dame, where he won the Heisman Trophy in 1987 and set school records for receiving yards, kickoff return yards and all-purpose yards.

In 2017, Brown was included in the inaugural class of Dallas ISD’s Athletic Hall of Fame, along with fellow Woodrow graduate Davey O’Brien.
