If you have a bunch of paper to shred and want to help a neighborhood park at the same time, stop by the Skillman Church of Christ next to Tietze Park March 26 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. The Friends of Tietze Park Foundation is hosting its 4th annual shredding event, with on-site (and instant) shredding services by Brinks Document Destruction. Cost is $7 for the first standard banker’s box (about 30 pounds of paper), and $5 for each additional banker’s box. All boxes are $5 for seniors over 65.

Last year, I wheeled into the parking lot at Skillman Church of Christ, 3014 Skillman at Monticello, and was greeted by volunteers who happily took my money and my boxes — I didn’t even have to get out of the car. And since Brinks is shredding on-site, you can watch your boxes meet their maker with no worries about security. For information, email tietzeshred@sbcblogal.net or call 214-212-4257.
