The Lakewood Elementary Spring Carnival Saturday from 3-7 p.m. Organizers still need volunteers to help with running the carnival booths, cake walk, ring toss, dunking booth, and the like. Note from Woodrow Wildcat newsletter: "Lakewood Elementary would love to have Woodrow (especially ex-Lakewood) students volunteer, principal, Mrs. Thompson, will sign-off for their community service hours."

What mom doesn’t love classic cookin’ — cheese casseroles, meatloaf, prime rib—especially when she doesn’t have to do the cookin’!? It’s time to treat her this Mother’s Day at Central 214 where new chef —queen of the comfort food —Blythe Beck delivers down home goodness daily (though this promises to be extra special). The $48 per person ($15 for 12-) brunch features a Bottomless Build Your Own Bloody Mary Bar (see — EXTRA special).
