There’s culture of all kinds this weekend, from food tastings to book readings to toe-tapping fun.

Mail AttachmentLet’s start with food, shall we? East Dallas chef Michael Weinstein, AKA the Dread Head Chef, will have products available at Sam’s Club, starting with a tasting this weekend. The tasting is out of the neighborhood, but if you’d like to meet Weinstein himself, he will be at the Sam’s Club at 8621 Ohio Drive Thursday through Sunday. You can also buy his products at Jimmy’s Food StoreGreen Spot and Veritas, among other locations.

On Saturday, Jan. 26, the Dallas Woman’s Forum is hosting a presentation of the book, The Great Pearl Heist, by Dallas native and best-selling author Molly Caldwell Crosby, during a champagne reception at 4:00 p.m. at The Alexander Mansion, 4607 Ross Avenue. Reservations are $30 for members and guests. Dallas Children’s Theater is presenting their rendition of the classic children’s book, “Goodnight Moon,” by Margaret Wise Brown and Clement Hurd, starting this weekend. The show, which is aimed at audiences age four and up, will run until March 3. They are also hosting a book drive, where you can donate books through the duration of the show. After all that fun, you might need to kick your shoes off and enjoy a relaxing weekend activity. Well, you’d be in good company at the Bath House Cultural Center during their 12th Annual Barefoot Brigade Dance Festival, which is wrapping up this weekend. Tickets are $15 to $33. For music, the Granada Theater has three note-worthy bands playing this weekend: Americana musician Joe Ely on Friday, raptastic A.Dd+ on Saturday, and the folksy Punch Brothers on Sunday.
