The Dallas International Film Festival kicks off today and runs through April 10. If you can’t decide what to go see, East Dallas-based filmmaker Eric Steele has some suggestions.

“Babes Under the Sea” opens Friday at the Pocket Sandwich Theater.

The second-annual Promise of Peace Eco Fest is from 1-4 p.m. Saturday at the Promise of Peace garden on East Grand. They’ll have live music, a butterfly tent, arts and crafts for kids and vendor booths. Tickets are $3 at the gate, and proceeds go toward the group’s mission of educating East Dallas kids about gardening and giving them a place to feel at peace.

“Tuck Everlasting” runs through April 10 at the Dallas Children’s Theater.
