We love school supply shopping. Buying bright new notebooks with clean white, lined pages and pencils that haven’t yet been sharpened down to the end — it signifies the beginning of a new school year and a fresh start.

But some students won’t have the chance this year to enjoy any school supplies at all. That’s why Community Partners of Dallas is teaming up with the Granada Theater on Lower Greenville at McCommas to collect school supplies at their Back to School Bash this Sunday, Aug. 21 at 7 p.m. All donations will go to Dallas-area children who need them. The Community Partners of Dallas has a list of school supplies on its website for those interested in donating.

Concert-goers can bring either school supplies or cash and enjoy the music being played by artists The Dollyrots, Sunderland, and the Grammy-nominated band Bowling for Soup. Tickets are on sale for $12 at the Granada Theater website.
