This qualifies as a neighborhood story only because one of our neighbors’ relatives worked on these TV ads, but in the spirit of the soon-to-be-gone holidays, I thought you might enjoy watching these goofy holiday ads done for Safeway (parent company of Tom Thumb). They feature cheerleaders popping up in unusual places to cheer-on people buying chocolate morsels, ham, turkey and wine.
If you’re a Saturday Night Live fan, the commercials remind me of a series of comedy skits featuring Will Ferrell and Sheri Oteri as the SNL Spartan cheerleaders.
