The Planting Hand is located on Lowest Greenville next to HG Sply Co., where The Planting Hand’s founder, Karla Gallegos, used to work.

According to the store’s website, Gallegos found herself spending increasingly more time maintaining the rooftop plants at the restaurant.

Eventually, she took over the greenery for all UNCO brands, which include Standard Service, Leela’s Wine Bar, Milli and Hero.

Gallegos established The Planting Hand in 2019, but the first brick-and-mortar opened in 2022. A grand opening was held Feb. 12.

The store sells goods such as incense, candles and bath bombs in addition to plants.

This is just one new business that has opened on Greenville Avenue this year. We reported earlier this month about Outside, Texas, which moved from its Mockingbird Station location. In that same story, we also mentioned that the clothing store is in a temporary location until the renovation of a space across the street is complete.

Another business called Body 2.0 Beauty Bar also plans to open on Greenville. It will offer services including hair and brow styling, body waxing, lashes and makeup.

The Planting Hand is located at 2010 Greenville Ave. It’s open 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Tuesday-Wednesday, 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Thursday-Friday, 10 a.m.-8 pm. Saturday and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday.Â
