Update (Oct. 7): The opening of the bar has been delayed. Here is a statement from the restaurant: “The safety of our teammates and guests is our utmost priority. Due to exposure to COVID-19 and as an added precaution we have decided to close Manpuku Dallas and delay the opening of The Niku Bar.”

Manpuku will soon be serving Japanese tapas and drinks in its outdoor dining area, The Niku Bar.

The restaurant, which opened in June in Lowest Greenville, offers yakiniku dining to East Dallas neighbors. It is the first Texas location of the chain.

The bar, scheduled to open Oct. 7, can seat 59 and has a private room with sofa seating. Its menu was created by Michelin Star-winning chef Kentaro Tsunoda and includes uni and kobe beef sashimi, beef yakiniku tortilla pizza, crab ceviche, Japanese taco rice, crispy cheese and spicy beef ramen.

“We’ll offer a completely different experience on our patio than we do inside with a large and varied menu with something new to try on each visit,” Tsunoda said in a press release.

Drink options include sangria, sommelier-selected wines, Japanese whiskies and craft beer.

Manpuku is located at 2323 Greenville Ave.Â
