A fitness center with hundreds of workout machines and group classes will fill out the remainder of the vacant Albertsons grocery store at the corner of Mockingbird and Abrams.
Construction has begun on Texas Family Fitness, located in the southeast corner of the Hillside Village Shopping Center. The 32,000-square-foot gym is scheduled to open in March 2020, district manager Edgar Valdez said.
The two-story gym will feature free weights, cardio machines, hydro massage, red light therapy, a turf area and several studios for group classes, Valdez said.
Residents can enroll now and begin training in a smaller space across the street until the new location at 6464 Mockingbird Lane opens. Pre-enrollment rates start at $7.99 per month with no enrollment fees.
The gym’s Lakewood location will fill the remainder of the Albertsons that has been closed since 2016. Property owner Northwood Retail partitioned the 55,400-square-foot space into two spaces.
The other tenant is ASI Gymnastics, which opened in May.
