An Austin-based company specializing in Western wear and leather accessories is open in Knox-Henderson, just in time for boot-wearing weather.
Tecovas, opened Oct. 4 at 3010 N. Henderson Ave. The shop sells quality cowboy boots that range from $235 to $695. Customers can try on a variety of sizes and purchase them from the store or have them shipped.
The company offers embossing on all leather goods, as well as complimentary boot shines and beverages, CultureMap reported.
Dallas native and Tecovas CEO Paul Hedrick quit his job and drained his savings account to create the Tecovas brand, according to the company website. When the Dallas location opened, he said it was a particularly special moment.
“Having grown up in Dallas, we’ve been looking forward to (this) for a while,” Hedrick told CultureMap. “It took time to find the right place, but we’re thrilled to open our largest store on Henderson Avenue and bring our high bar for customer experience to physical retail in a fantastic new city.”
The 4,000-square-foot space features rugged and industrial materials, wooden shelves and Western accents. A hide depicting the Dallas skyline is the shop’s signature piece of art.
The Dallas location is the brand’s third store. Hedrick opened the first in Austin in 2015, and a San Antonio shop followed in July of this year.
Tecovas is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
