Dallas ISD is distributing more than $20 million in iPads and Chromebooks to students who are choosing to learn remotely this fall.
iPads will be given to approximately 46,000 students in pre-K through second grade, and Chromebooks will be given to about 14,000 students in third through fifth grades.
Distribution began Monday and will continue in the weeks leading to the start of school Sept. 8.
Parents will receive a backpack that includes the computing device, earbuds, a charger, a mobile hotspot — if requested — and instructions in English and Spanish about how to obtain technical support.
