Swiss Avenue home tour
The Swiss Avenue Historic District Board of Directors voted to cancel this year’s home tour for the second straight year because of coronavirus concerns.
The decision came after the neighborhood association consulted with homeowners, sponsors, vendors and the Dallas City Council, Swiss Avenue spokesman Robert Cox said.
Prior to canceling the home tour in 2020, members discussed the possibility of conducting a virtual tour. But most real estate sites offer virtual tours, so it was not considered an attractive alternative, Cox said.
“That idea was abandoned because the charm and value our tour provides comes from the actual experience physically being inside the homes,” he said.
The historic district board hopes to return to a regular format in 2022.
