Casa View resident John Botefuhr has filed with the City Secretary’s Office to take on incumbent Paula Blackmon to represent District 9 on the Dallas City Council. Former District 9 Council Member and Mayor Pro-Tem Mary Poss has signed on as Botefuhr’s campaign treasurer.
Botefuhr is a chiropractor, businessman and founder of Adjust Chiropractic at 9041 Garland Road. He attended Highland Park High School and received his undergraduate degree from the University of Oklahoma.
He has been active in East Dallas serving on the board of the Greater East Dallas Chamber of Commerce, the board of Good Local Markets and the board of White Rock Lake Foundation.
The City Council election is May 1. Blackmon has filed for re-election and recently named Bryan Tony, formerly of The Real Estate Council, as her campaign manager.
