There are plenty of ways to support our East Dallas neighbors.

Here is a list of organizations in our neighborhood asking for our involvement in this season of giving. This will be updated as new opportunities become available.

  • Dwell With Dignity

Dwell With Dignity, a nonprofit founded by an East Dallas neighbor, is holding a “Stock the Shelves” drive. Check out the Amazon Family wishlist to purchase home supplies and necessities for the families the organization serves.

Through Dec. 10, ship the gifts to 1127 Conveyor Lane, or drop them off at the Jingle Dwell holiday party on Dec. 8. RSVP here.

  • Geneva Heights Elementary

Donations are needed for the fourth-annual Geneva Heights Gift Shop. Students are now working to earn “cougar cash” to spend on items at the gift shop.

Brand-new toys for all ages, home goods, tech accessories, pet accessories and gift sets, such as bath and body sets or stationery, are all accepted.

To donate an item, message Sarah Shopay.

Neighbors can also Venmo @GHPTA, donate MasterCard, Visa or American Express gift cards or donate online here.

The shop opens Dec. 13, and donations are accepted through Dec. 12.

  • Lakewood Toy Drive

Several of our neighbors are hosting the second Fa La La Lakewood toy drive, which will benefit the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center. It’s set to take place Dec. 4.

  • White Rock Center of Hope

The White Rock Center of Hope is hosting a coat drive. Drop off all sizes of coats, hats and gloves to any of the following locations by Dec. 18: Elliott’s Hardware, The Heights, The Pour House, BarNone, Dallas Nail Bar, Well Grounded Coffee, MoMo Italian Kitchen, Stone’s Hardware, Yogi’s Sushi Bar, Independence Title, Green Spot, Elle Realty, Groove Hair Salon and Workout Anytime.
