After the crowds swarm the malls and big-box shopping centers this Black Friday (and in some cases, Thursday), local shops are coming together for Small Business Saturday on Nov. 30.
Independent retailers will offer sales and promotions of up to 75 percent off that day to encourage shoppers to spend their money right here in the community.
Brad Schweig of Sunnyland Furniture in Far North Dallas launched ShopLocalDFW.com in 2011, starting with just a few local businesses. This year, with support from American Express, he has more than 70 retailers participating all over Dallas-Fort Worth.
