With temperatures in the high 90s summer doesn’t feel like it’s going anywhere anytime soon, but the Dallas Library’s summer reading club is. The Mayor’s Summer Reading Club will come to a close next week.

There are still a few chances to participate in the summer program, beginning tomorrow at the White Rock Hills branch. Operation Kindness Humane Education will be held at the library at 1 p.m. for kids ages 6 to 18. The event will teach kids how to approach and interact with animals.

On Aug. 3 at 1 p.m. the Cara Mía Theatre Co. will present a hands-on theater experience emphasizing focus, memorization, expression and communication. Cara Mía Theatre Co. is a non-profit company that presents live theater and develops educational youth arts programming reflective of the Latino experience in America. The event is recommended for kids ages 9 to 12.

On Friday, Aug 5, the White Rock Hills Library will host an end of summer party and magic show. All ages are welcome for the party that begins at 1 p.m.
