Pei Wei Asian Kitchen is an Irving-based restaurant chain with locations in our neighborhood, including Casa Linda, which opened almost 10 years ago with great fanfare, and on Greenville, their first “digital” or express location focused on takeout and delivery.
The company’s success has been rooted in its assessment of the neighborhoods it serves and playing to those characteristics, they say in a press release.
They note that the early success at the Greenville Avenue store has prompted the expansion of that concept into new markets.
When they opened the Greenville Avenue store, their director of real estate Adam Griffiths said Pei Wei decision makers “spoke to delivery service providers to better understand where demand was coming from in the area,” according to a press release.
A company spokesperson says they aim to open 10-15 new locations in 2023 and place Pei Wei inside nine college and university campuses.
The brand also expanded last year by partnering with other groups to put Pei Wei in airports and Kroger Grocery locations.
New locations will be in Texas as well as Arizona and Florida. “Included in these new stores will be more takeout and delivery locations similar to the site on Greenville Ave, where Pei Wei has found early success,” according to the press release.
