Stoney’s Wine Lounge doesn’t just sell wine anymore. If you haven’t been into Stoney’s in a while, you might not know they recently began offering live music at their venue.
I went by recently to sip wine and enjoy jazz music by owners Diana Savage and “Stoney” himself. Savage says they decided to host music nights to showcase their own talents, but also to give local musicians another place to jam.
They offer the stage to both seasoned musicians and those who are new to the scene. Savage says she likes to believe their music selection is similar to their wine selection — varied, affordable and interesting.
If you’d like to check out some of the events they have coming up, this Friday, Aug. 23 the Pete Brewer Trio is playing with Jeff Eckels on bass and Brian Piper on piano. Then next Friday, Aug. 30, they are hosting “the inventive Dave Zoller” with Woody Berner and Ross Schodek. Stoney’s is located at 6038 Oram. Call 214.953.3067 for more info.
