You gotta love it when locals in the limelight use their talent to support neighborhood causes — especially when it involves their own kids. That’s the case for the upcoming Stonewall Shake, Rattle and Roll event, a concert, dinner and auction raising funds for Stonewall Jackson Elementary.

The band headlining the festivities on Saturday, May 1 is the Reverend Horton Heat, which includes bass player and Stonewall dad Jimbo Wallace. Turns out that Life in Deep Ellum, where the event takes place, has in its possession the original pulpit that the Reverend Horton Heat used when the band formed, and the Stonewall PTA will be using it at the auction on stage.

Another Stonewall dad who will be front and center that night is Rob McCollum, host of "Good Morning Texas", who will emcee the event. Tickets are $50 and can be purchased on the Shake, Rattle and Roll website.
