We’ve been sweet on Society Bakery since it opened in East Dallas in 2003, and now it’s time for things to get serious.

The local favorite, which moved to a space on Greenville beside Green Grocer in 2013, just rolled out a new “savory menu” to accompany its sweet treats.

This comes on the heels of the addition of executive chef Erron Star Depew, who has more than 25 years of culinary experience.

Next time you drop by, you’ll see these five items on said menu: breakfast pastries (includes things like cinnamon rolls, croissants, muffins, scones and quiche), toasts, cheese and fruit plates, sandwiches/soups and salads.

Society Bakery’s new menu “utilizes organic produce as much as possible, as well as organic chicken, hormone and antibiotic free turkey and humanely raised pork,” according to a press release.

This addition has been in the works since the move, and founder Roshi Muns’ explanation is simple:

“I’m constantly looking to stretch myself and bring new items to our bakery,” she says.
