UnrefinedThe folks at Society Bakery left their location at 3426 Greenville for greener pastures at the beginning of November, and Unrefined Bakery left no time before swooping in to scoop up the empty spot — just in time for the holidays.

Taylor Nicholson, who co-owns Unrefined with her mother Anne Hoyt, is hosting a soft opening for the Greenville location today, and she hopes to get the display case set up by the end of the week. They’d like to be established in time to catch the holiday crowds with their pies and thanksgiving dressing (available in traditional and vegan options).

The location at Greenville, wedged between The Corner Market and Buffalo Exchange, is Unrefined Bakery’s third location, and there conveniently wasn’t a lot that needed to be done to the space, other than redesigning it to fit Unrefined’s brand, Nicholson says.

Unrefined is known for their diet-friendly treats. They are a dedicated gluten-free, soy-free, organic bakery, and they also offer a large selection of paleo options, or really just about any dietary preferences. People travel from all over the metroplex to stock up on their breads, cakes, pies or cupcakes, Nicholson says.

Which is why they plan to continue to expand. Next year, Nicholson hopes to build three new locations in the Dallas area. No specifics yet, but they’re thinking westward and maybe a location in South Dallas. Watch their Facebook page for more information.

As for Society Bakery, we haven’t seen the last of them. Right now, they’re offering cake curbside delivery service while they set up shop a couple blocks down the way at 3610 Greenville near Granada Theater. Once they open, we can expect an “expanded menu that will include espresso drinks, breakfast sweets, sandwiches, soups, salads, vegan and gluten free items,” according to their website. For more, or to place a delivery order, call 972-566-7558.
