The rumor mill is rife with reports that the venerable Snow Pea Chinese restaurant in Lakewood will soon close and be replaced by something new and spiffier. Kert Platner, who owns Times 10 Cellars, the winery and tasting room up the street, bought the Snow Pea location a couple of years ago with plans to bring in another tenant when the Snow Pea lease expired.
No truth to the rumors, says Platner. “I am speaking with a few people but the lease is probably solid until September 2011,” he says. “I would love to make something happen quicker but it might be tough.”
