It has been well over a year since Project Pie, a national fast-casual custom pizza restaurant, first announced it was opening a location on Lowest Greenville between Steel City Pops and Remedy.

Construction finally began in February, but it has been slow-going. Now, Jeff Daffin, the area director for Project Pie, says the restaurant might actually start slinging pizzas in the next week or two.

Daffin says ownership changes along the way have caused a lot of the holdup because it brought some big conceptual changes along with it. For example, there was a time when Project Pie planned to have a 1957 airstream trailer inside its restaurant; however, that’s no longer going to happen.

Even now, there is wallpapering above the kitchen and in the hallway that’s coming down before opening day, Daffin says. But the big changes have been made. Now it’s just a matter of making the final tweaks and getting all the paperwork in order.

Project Pie is hiring, if you’re interested. The sign in the window says they’re looking for “authentic humans.” So if that’s you, give Jeff a call at 214.542.5973. Learn more on the website.
