Slater’s 50/50, the California chain with a location on Greenville Avenue, is rebranding as a “rebel gastropub” in 2019 to showcase a more holistic menu that includes bun-less burger bowls and more veggies, according to a news release.

The first step in the rebranding is to introduce menu items that go beyond signature burger, bacon and beer offerings. The eatery is famous for creating a burger patty made with 50 percent ground beef and 50 percent bacon, but it is also known for loaded flatbreads and over-the-top milkshakes.

“We’re still holding true to our rule-breaking heritage but appealing to a broader audience,” said James Bailey, culinary director for Elite Restaurant Group, Slater’s 50/50 parent company. “The new year is going to show off our culinary creativity and how Slater’s 50/50 is capable of exciting our guests over and over again.”

He added that the protein-focused, diet-friendly items would be healthier and low carb but still impressive with bold flavors.

The new offerings include sweet and spicy cauliflower, a turkey bowl and a cheeseburger bowl. There’s also a power bowl with a quinoa veggie patty, blueberries, greens, carrots and avocado.

They are available through March 31 at all locations in Texas, California and Nevada.
