If you didn’t see “Skateland”, the directorial debut of Texas State University alumnus Anthony Burns, in theaters, that’s OK. It got lukewarm reviews. But we have a feeling this 80s nostalgia flick, filmed in East Texas, could turn out to be something of a cult classic.

It was released on DVD today, and if you haven’t seen it, consider putting it in your Netflix queue. It features the motion-picture debut of young Lakewood actress, Caroline Horn, whom we interviewed in the March 2010 Advocate. She only has two lines in the movie, but they’re memorable ones. And she got to rub elbows with teen stars at the Sundance Film Festival last year.
