Another 100,000 gallons of wastewater spilled into a White Rock Lake feeder creek after heavy rains caused a sewage overflow in Plano, city officials said.
The City of Plano said Wednesday the overflow near the Glen Eagles Golf Course began Wednesday morning when the wastewater spilled out of a manhole and into White Rock Creek.

The spill comes about six months after another 100,000 gallons of wastewater surged into the creek in October. That incident was preceded by a leak in which 1 million gallons overflowed.
Once the flow is contained, crews will clean the creek and check the health of the fish, according to Fox affiliate KDFW.
The station reported the North Texas Municipal Water District is working on a $6.5 million project to expand the area’s pump station, which transfers excess flows to the wastewater treatment facility. That should help prevent future leaks, officials said.
