Here are eight Halloween happenings this weekend that don’t require you leave the neighborhood:

Mockingbird Station is hosting its fifth annual Halloween party, Boos, Booze and Boobs, tonight from 7-11 p.m. The event will benefit Susan G. Komen and will offer the chance to win up to $500 in free food and drinks along with swag, prizes and more. Go to the Facebook event page for more.

Councilmen Philip Kingston and Adam Medrano are celebrating their birthdays this weekend, Halloween style. (P.s. Medrano is turning 40.) Celebrate with them at Green Room on Oct. 30 from 8 p.m.-midnight. Kingston says, “…we both want presents of the kind that are made payable to The Adam Medrano Campaign or The Philip Kingston Campaign.” There will be food, music and a costume contest.

What says Halloween better than a creeptastic Alfred Hitchcock film? The Granada Theater is hosting a double feature of “Psycho and The Birds” on Oct. 22. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the film starts at 8 p.m. Go to the website for more.

On Oct. 31 is Harvest Fest, Robert E. Lee Elementary’s inaugural community celebration from 4-6 p.m. Expect raffle prizes, costume contests, music with local DJ Wes Garrett, trick-or-treating with neighborhood businesses and more. Robert E. Lee Elementary School is at 2911 Delmar.

Need something to do during the day? Head to Lowest Greenville on Oct. 31. for trick-or-treating with local businesses. Look for orange balloons. Festivities starts around 11 a.m. Go to the Facebook page for more.

This Sunday, Nov. 1, is the 12th annual Blocktoberfest. Meet the neighbors on Merrilee between Alexander and Cornelia from 3-6 p.m. There will be a bounce house, face painting, hoops, a ping-pong tournament, and music. Feast on cotton candy and popcorn, and don’t be shy about getting one more use out of your halloween costume. Bring your own beverage, items to grill (grills and utensils will be provided), lawn chairs or a blanket, an appetizer, dish or dessert to share and at least one non-perishable food item to donate to a local charity.
