Emergency Room at Skillman-Mockingbird
For months after developer Moran Capital LLC bought up the property at the northeast corner of Skillman and Mockingbird where two gas stations once operated, Moran wasn’t sure what to do with it, partner JD Robertson told us last year.
Now, nearly a year later, a small sign has appeared to announce the corner property will soon be turned into an emergency room.

The architectural company REES Associates Inc. and general contractor Skiles Group will be heading up the project. We’ve reached out to REES and are waiting for more details. For now, there’s a rendering available on the sign at the corner.
For a while, Moran was also eyeing the apartment complex right next door, the Wilshire on Mockingbird. The company hoped to buy the complex and get a zoning change from residential to commercial, but some neighbors weren’t too keen on the idea. Although some neighbors supported it, Moran wanted more support in order to attempt the venture.
