“The story of ‘Broken’ is one that is meant to be shared with everyone, no matter the price,” said Martino. “Because of this, I felt it was only right to invite the community to a complimentary show.”

“Broken” is a passion project that “sheds light on an all-too-common occurrence of sexual assault and raises awareness about the many issues connected to it from the personal lives of individuals to its treatment within the legal system,” according to a press release.

Fifty percent of the ticket sales from the Black Tie Gala benefitted the East Dallas-based organization, the Dallas Area Rape Crisis Center, whose mission is to provide a comprehensive and compassionate response to individuals impacted by sexual assault through advocacy, education and prevention. Additionally, a box for viewers to drop off donations for the center is available through the entire run of show.

On Tuesday, Aug. 5, the first 200 guests will enter free of charge. Seats are first come, first serve with a pass. Visit the website to print off a free pass.

The show will run through Aug. 17. Run of show tickets range from $10 to $35. “Broken the Musical” contains material that may be sensitive for some audiences. No one under 17 is admitted without a parent or guardian present. The show is at Gilley’s Dallas, South Side Event Center, 1135 S. Lamar.
