  • The Woodrow Wilson dance team (pictured above) performed twice at NorthPark Center during NorthPark’s Christmas celebration this weekend.
  • Tracy James, jr. Wildcat tailback was voted Player of the Year by the 12-4A football coaches. Baylee Willingham, Sr., received the same honor for the volleyball team.
  • Also, Woodrow Wilson High School’s boys cross country team recently won the 12 4-A District Championship, becoming the fifth district athletic title Woodrow has won this fall.
  • Lakewood Elementary school is looking for volunteers for the Stallion Store on Friday, Dec. 20. Volunteer here. Also, keep the Lakewood Elementary Spirit Store in mind when brainstorming Christmas gifts. Order by Dec. 19 to get it by Christmas.
  • And of course, don’t forget to vote for the Dallas ISD calendar for the 2014-15 school year.
  • This year during the Stonewall Garden Change Campaign, Stonewall Garden plans to place coffee cans with the Change Campaign/Stonewall Garden logo at local businesses and restaurants to collect as much change as they can, but they need help gathering coffee cans. They will need around 40 coffee cans with lids, either metal or plastic. If you have one or more to donate, leave them in the box outside the Stonewall office. They hope to collect them by Dec. 20, the start of the holiday break.
  • You can benefit East Dallas schools by visiting DALLAS CITYSCAPE at at the Galleria Dallas from Dec. 14. to Jan. 5. Cityscape, an engaging and educational exhibit featuring several Dallas landmarks comprised of more than 2.5 million blocks and other toy-building supplies. Families can stroll through the amazing exhibit, enjoy: interactive play at special building stations and even put personal creations on display. DALLAS CITYSCAPE benefits East Dallas Community Schools, a non-profit organization that operates early childhood learning centers with programs to meet the needs of children from birth to age nine. $5 for adults and children ages 2 and up; Children’s ticket includes a special prize.
