Owner shotA new restaurant is opening on Henderson to bring us “simple, uncomplicated, rustic but refined” dinner options later this month.

Brought to us by husband-wife duo Allison Yoder and Stephen Rogers — who recently moved to Dallas from California where they worked at one of Napa Valley’s top dining destinations, PRESS — Gemma Restaurant, located at 2323 Henderson, promises to offer a “fresh, modern American, seasonal menu with ethnic influences in a welcoming and comfortable setting.”

Once finished, the restaurant will seat 55 inside and 30 on the patio. It will be open for dinner, starting at 5:30 Wednesday through Sunday. But if all goes as planned, the restaurant will stay open until 1 a.m. to offer dining options for those interested in late-night dining.

Yoder will act as general manager, while chef hubby Rogers will run the kitchen. Rogers “manipulates recipes  from all different regions and countries around the globe to bring a simple yet boldly flavorful experience,” according to a press release. He mix-n-matches tastes from Asian, Mediterranean, French cultures and more.

Yoder painstakingly created the the wine list, which she says is “an international list with friendly markups. It’s a very balanced list with old world and new world — something for everyone.” They’ll also offer seasonal cocktails and twenty bottled beer options, both local and craft.
