  • Also, Alex Sanger Elementary is hosting a parents education meeting Oct. 15 at 6:30 p.m. that’s open to all. “We all read a ton of parenting books when we are pregnant and then when the kids start school we get so wrapped up in everything that keeping up our parenting skills gets put on the back burner,” a press release explained. • Lakewood Elementary is looking for volunteers to join its weekly Friday 8 a.m. parent work group. They meet each week to help with various classroom prep activities – hole-punching, copying, cutting, laminating etc. They need a leader each week who will pick up the work that needs to be done and meet up with the group on Friday morning. To sign up, click HERE. Lakewood Elementary also needs volunteers for its fall festival.
  • Several J.L. Long Middle School teachers are looking for help via the Donors Choose campaign. Any amount helps. Want to volunteer for the Long Run? Sign up!
